ALBUM

Neil, a concept album composed and recorded to chronicle a representation of the reflective memories of Neil Armstrong during the historic 8 day Apollo 11 space mission in July 1969, to attempt to put the first man on the moon.

"We set sail on this new sea because there is new knowledge to be gained, whether it will become a force for good or ill depends on man". -JFK

Welcome to the website dedicated to the release of my concept album 'Neil'.

Recorded in the garage during lockdown using 3 synthesisers, a drum machine and using a borrowed laptop and audio interface, I've composed an 8 part concept album about one of my childhood heroes, Neil Armstrong, and my interpretation of his thoughts during the Apollo 11 space mission.

I recommend you listen to the whole album as one 37 minute piece. This is how I intended it to be listened to, and incorporates the extra 11 minutes of compositional work not found on the singles. Hopefully, through listening this way you can imagine the journey I've tried to create.

sound geek that i am, I would recommend good headphones or a decent  soundsystem as this stereo recording would benefit greatly from either and enhance the atmosphere I've tried to create.

I hope you enjoy listening to 'neil' as much as I've enjoyed creating  it.

Live Long and Prosper.

“I really believe that if the political leaders of the world could see their planet from a distance of, let’s say 100,000 miles, their outlook would be fundamentally changed. The all-important border would be invisible, that noisy argument suddenly silenced.”  Michael Collins, Apollo 11

That will be me then. the looney who came up with this idea in the first place. Self taught keyboard player and general synth nerd all round. I love them and don't mind admitting it.

The Hood was a criminal magician just like Dave who took my creations and sprinkled his musical engineering wizardry all over them. Long live his devious mind

Now this fella Irv just like Virgil always comes to the rescue at exactly the right time. This dude wrapped up his spare laptop and posted it down to me through lockdown. A true hero.

On co pilot rescue with Irv this fella again went above and beyond and posted me an Audiobox so I could actually record into the laptop. Without Jamies help none of this would have happened.

Probably the greatest talent of all, just like Lady Penelope,

Juliette, rode the rollercoaster of my ups and downs through creating this album with finesse, aplomb....and cider.x
